Kathikas is a village full of life, energy and hospitality but still retains an old-world character with its stone houses and the traditional way of life is much in evidence. The focal point of the village is the square where the main church Panayia Evangelistria with its beautiful murals is located. Surrounding the square are coffee shops and tavernas.

The mountain village of Kathikas is fairly well-known in the region due to the fact that Kathikas is one of the wine-growing centres in this area. The wine has been produced in the area for a long time, but now the winery is using the most modern production methods: in the cellar, the required temperature is maintained all year round creating ideal conditions for the ageing process.

Sterna Winery is an open-air museum of sorts, overlooking 50 hectares of vineyards offering an old traditional cellar for wine storage and a small winery. In Kathikas there is still one of the most famous and popular wineries of Cyprus – Vasilikon Winery.

Just because you prefer to stay inland does not mean you have to miss out on the beach experience. Coral Bay approximately 15 kilometres away is the well-known beach resort for the Paphos district. This family-oriented area has become a lively resort with plenty to offer in terms of amenities, activities and beaches.

The coastal resorts of Polis and Latchi are both within a 20-minute drive of the village, and both feature coarse sand and shingle beaches with sun beds and umbrellas for hire and restaurants/snack bars providing refreshments.

The town of Paphos with its World Heritage Sites, modern shopping facilities, Water Park, Paphos Zoo and attractive harbour area is within a 35-minute drive.
